TA is On It's Way

We just got informed that our TA is on it's way here. It should arrive Monday or Tuesday at the latest. It's amazing how all of this came together. 8 weeks to do this adoption and that includes some serious delays at the USCIS. Amazing!

I just wish we were home free but that's not how things work for us sometimes. The consulate in Guangzhou is closing for a week to move buildings. I think I have said that before, I just wanted to make sure you were paying attention. :) Because of the closure there is a rush on consulate appointments. The normal timing for this adoption would be a 10 day trip. The consulate has no available appointments until Aug 6 so that would make this a 3 week trip at the best. You may be asking why can't Doug just leave later. Well, he has to be there and papers signed for Gui by July 22 or Gui loses his opportunity to be adopted. His birthday is July 23rd and all China paperwork has to be finalized before that date or Gui ages out of the system.

We have been able to get things expedited because Gui is aging out, but once the adoption is final in China the consulate no longer needs to treat this as an expedited case. That means they most likely will make Doug wait. We are hoping and praying that they will squeeze Gui in. We all really need Doug to come home and make money and we are just a little partial to having him around. He is on commission so if he doesn't work we don't get paid and we are still trying to catch up from Gideon's adoption. Outside of that we are looking at airline tickets at over $2,000 each because it's the summer season. We are hoping there is enough in the grant to get Doug and the boys there and back. If not we will scramble and scrape something up. The Lord provides. He has never let us down before. Things may not always work out the way we plan but they do always work out.

Faith precedes the Miracle!
